The RIPAM website now also has a homepage in Maltese.
This language, spoken on the island of Malta, in the center of the Mediterranean, represents, in a certain sense, the union of all the ethnic groups bordering this sea. It belongs to the Semitic linguistic group, widespread in Africa and Asia. It derives from Arabic, is related to the dialects spoken in the Maghreb region, and is influenced by Latin, Italian, Sicilian, and English. It is written in its own alphabet, derived from the Latin alphabet. It is the official language of the Republic of Malta, along with English, and is also an official language of the European Union. It would be difficult to find a better general fusion point.
The presence of Maltese on the RIPAM website is also a sign of gratitude to our Maltese colleagues who participated in the RIPAM 11 conference in Palermo.
